F1963은 1963년부터 2008년까지 45년간 와이어를 생산하던 고려제강의 모태가 되었던 수영 공장을 활용해 Factory의 "F", 수영공장이 완공된 1963년을 기념한 이름으로 2016년 부산비엔날레를 계기로 탄생한 융복합 문화예술 공간이다.

본 전시는 러시아 출신 아티스트 그룹 AES+F의 개인전으로, 대표적인 영상 미디어 작품 두 점을 소개한다. 타티아나 아르자마소바, 레프 에브조비치, 에브게니 스뱌츠키, 블라디미르 프리드케스로 구성된 AES+F는 회화, 조각, 애니메이션, 영상, 설치 등 다양한 매체를 넘나들며 동시대 글로벌 사회의 가치와 욕망, 그리고 그 이면에 놓인 갈등과 폭력을 지속적으로 탐구해왔다. 이들은 최첨단 디지털 기술과 고전적 이미지를 결합해 초현실적이면서도 기념비적인 장면을 구축하며, 글로벌리즘, 탈식민주의, 이주, 지역 분쟁, 트랜스휴머니즘, 정체성, 기후 위기 등 복합적인 사회·정치적 이슈들을 교차시킨다.

전시가 열리는 F1963은 AES+F의 대규모 파노라마 영상 작업과 자연스럽게 어우러지는 공간이다. 공간을 가로지르는 긴 수평의 백색 벽면은 대표작 <알레고리아 사크라>가 펼쳐지는 주요 무대로, 관객이 작품 속 장면에 깊이 몰입할 수 있는 환경을 형성한다. 또한 이번 전시에서는 <디지털 사파리: 정글의 우화>가 한국에서 처음으로 소개된다.

본 전시는 고전과 현대, 이미지와 기술, 인간과 권력, 소비와 폭력, 신화와 현실이 교차하는 AES+F의 다층적 이미지가 전개되는 과정을 따라가며, 그들이 구축해온 복합적인 세계관을 보다 가까이 경험할 수 있는 자리를 마련한다.

F1963 is a multidisciplinary cultural and arts complex established on the former Suyeong factory site of Kiswire, where wire products were manufactured for 45 years from 1963 to 2008. The name combines the “F” from “Factory” with “1963,” the year the Suyeong plant was completed. The space was launched in 2016 on the occasion of the Busan Biennale.

This exhibition presents a solo show by the Russian artist collective AES+F, featuring two of their major video works. Composed of Tatiana Arzamasova, Lev Evzovich, Evgeny Svyatsky, and Vladimir Fridkes, AES+F work across a wide range of media—including painting, sculpture, animation, video, and installation—continually exploring the values and desires of contemporary global society, as well as the conflicts and forms of violence that underlie them. Combining advanced digital technologies with classical visual languages, the group constructs hyperreal and monumental scenes that interweave complex socio-political conditions, including globalism, postcolonialism, migration, regional conflicts, transhumanism, identity, and the climate crisis.

The exhibition takes place at F1963, a site that resonates with AES+F’s large-scale panoramic video works. The long horizontal white wall that spans the space functions as the primary stage for their iconic work Allegoria Sacra, creating an immersive environment in which viewers are drawn into its unfolding visual sequences. The exhibition also marks the first presentation in Korea of Digital Safari: Fables of the Jungle.

Tracing the unfolding of AES+F’s multilayered visual language—where classical and contemporary aesthetics, image and technology, human and power, consumption and violence, and myth and reality intersect—the exhibition offers an opportunity to engage more closely with the complex world they have constructed.
